On Wednesday, a Federal District judge ruled that prayers in the Indiana Legislature can no longer “advance a particular faith”, specifically declaring that the name of Jesus Christ cannot be mentioned. This, on the basis that such prayers would constitute a “government endorsement of a particular religion” and thus violate the Establishment clause of the 1st Amendment.
Historically, almost every state has allowed legislatural prayers that invoke our nation’s Christian heritage. The Constitution of Indiana begins with thanks to God:
“. . . WE, the People of the State of Indiana, grateful to ALMIGHTY GOD for the free exercise of the right to choose our own form of government, do ordain this Constitution.”
Obviously, such a ruling as this one is in direct opposition to the written documentation of Indiana. But the ego and antichristian bias of the federal judges knows no bounds.
